growing in cracks and crevisses in the cliffs have formed characteristic
communities on the cape of San Antonio

Samphire (crithumum maritimum) and the "Siempreviva" (Helichrysum
stoechas) grow nearest to the sea. |

Further
away,
one can find the Valencian Rock Violet and then, when the slope
is steeper, the escabiosa rupestre. |

Regional,
Endemic plants such as the Valencian Rock Violet and endemic
plants of the biological arca of Dénia and the Pitiusan Islands
grown in the areas where the slopes
are gentlest |

The

anticistroides grown where the cliffs
are most humid and inaccessible |

Kermes
Oak (Querzus Cofifera), French lavender grow
naturally on the Planesand ist slopes mixed in with oak pines
(Pinos Hadepensis ) from reforestation and dry farmed
crops. |

Sabina Negra (Juniperus) and palm heart (phoenicea) grow
on the largest terraces |

There
are many species of birds to be found
in the cliffs: Aduin's Gull (Larus audounii) spends
the winter there while the Herring Gull (larus argentatus) nests
in the cliffs. |

Birds
from the crow family and birds of prey live
in the rocks and crags. The Partridge Eagle (Hieraaetus
fasciatus) nests there and it is possible to see Royal Owls
(Bubo Bubo) as well as the "Falco Tinnunculus" and the "Falco
Peregrinus" of the hawk family |
