AIRPORT FACILITIES:
Money and communications: Facilities include ATMs and a post office (open 0930-1330 Monday-Saturday). A bureau de change will open by the end of 2001. Eating and drinking: There are bars and restaurants, as well as a fast food outlet. Shopping: Shops include newsagents, tobacconists, gift and jewellery shops, a music store, cake shop, sports and shoe shops, CD and video store, and three duty-free shops. Luggage: There is a lost property office, a travel agency and a pharmacy.

DISABLED FACILITIES:
There is a designated area outside the terminal building for dropping off disabled passengers. There are also designated spaces for disabled passengers in the airport car park, located opposite the terminal building. The airport has lifts, ramps and disabled toilets; wheelchairs are available on request.

CAR HIRE:
Avis, Hertz España, Atesa, Europcar IB, Europa Rent a Car and Sol-Mar SL are all represented in Arrivals, next to baggage reclaim.

CAR PARKING:
Parking is available at the airport opposite the terminal building; long-term and short-term parking are located in one car park, although charges vary depending on the length of the stay.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS:
From Alicante, take the Autovia Alicante-Murcia and leave at the airport junction; alternatively, take the national road 340 to the airport. From Benidorm, take the Autopista A-7.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
Road: Taxi: Taxis are available at the airport (journey time to Alicante: 15-20 minutes). Bus: Scheduled buses run every 30 minutes to/from Alicante central bus station.

AIRPORT HOTELS:
There are no hotels at the airport. Sidi San Juan Hotel (tel: (0)96 516 1300) is a five-star hotel which is 15km (9 miles) from the airport; the Holiday Inn Alicante-Playa de San Juan (tel: (0)96 515 6185) is 5km (3 miles) from Alicante and can provide conference facilities. Other Alicante hotels include the Hotel Tryp Gran Sol (tel: (0)96 520 3000), Hotel Melia Alicante (tel: (0)96 520 5000) and the Hotel Maya (tel: (0)96 526 1211).
