MERCADO MEDIEVAL in Teulada
August - variable
Every year in the middle of August a medieval market is held in the streets around Teulada old town, an event which is poular with both residents and tourists alike.
More than 70 market stalls and tents are pitched in the streets, and stallholders dressed in traditional medieval costume ply their trade as they did in the Middle Ages. Visitors can watch a farrier, and see how people used to make a variety of goods by hand from leather, glass, silver, stone, wood, wax, silk and cotton.
Typical regional specialities of sausages, cheeses, desserts and sweets are on sale, and refreshments are available from the medieval tavern. Jugglers, jesters and artistes entertain visitors as they pass through the streets.
