Lonja - Fish auction Moraira
Port of Moraira
Moraira used to be a quiet fishing village: these days, the town has changed considerably, but a small fleet of 5 boats can still be found in the area. The fishermen usually work around the port and, depending on the season, use either nets, hooks or traps. Their haul averages approximately 27,000 kg of fish per year, which is sold by public auction at Lonja, the fish market in Moraira Port.
The most common catch for the region is:Sea Bass, Squid and Anglerfish
